Credit Control

Following up on your accounts with both the medical aids and your patients can be very taxing.  Jumping from the role of clinician, to that of credit controller can harm your clinician – patient relationship.  Why not leave your credit control to the experts, who will not only help preserve your patient relationship, but also follow up on your accounts immediately following submission.

How will this save me money?

  • Saving on the cost of credit controller’s salary
  • No additional telephone costs
  • Stationery costs are contained
  • No additional expenditure on software programs to manage debtors

What do you need to do?

  • Elect the option to have PHS manage your credit control together with your data capturing
  • Review your case management procedures, including pre-authorisation, consent forms and patient notices
  • Wait for your money to come in!

What will PHS do?

  • Follow up on your accounts from the moment they are submitted for payment
  • Work on a payment turn-around period of 2 weeks maximum
  • Manage your remittance advice allocations
  • Inform you immediately should the account be rejected
  • Contact the patient for payment, should the medical aid not settle the account
  • Notify you of possible stubborn accounts for hand-over to debt collectors – we manage this process on your behalf, with no additional expense to you.

Patients are only handed over with the implicit authorisation of the treating clinician

What will this cost?

  • After completing a 2 page questionnaire, we will meet with you to discuss a percentage based fee
  • This fee is only applicable to the actual amounts paid by the funder, should you combine the credit control service with data capturing
  • The service fee is billed at the end of the month, and is not drawn off the receipts before payment to you
  • You get to keep the banking details your own
